Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is integral to our business strategy and way of operating as we develop our business and reputation for integrity and best practice. The way in which we operate has an economic, social and environmental impact. We genuinely care and understand the responsibility of our actions and the impact of these activities on the environment, our clients, stakeholders, colleagues, employees and communities. We have a dedicated committee that drives CSR activity ensuring our efforts are maintained, measured and maximised. We are focused on achieving commercial success, however, we realise that a successful business is measured in more ways than just profitability alone. We aim to identify and report on measurable outcomes by considering three key CSR commitments:
Our people matter to us and we strive to create a working environment that offers support, variety, career progression, and the opportunity to work on exciting projects in an environment that allows both the client and the employee to enjoy the professional relationship. We have built our reputation dedicated to honest and fair dealings and as part of our ISO 9001 Quality Assurance accreditation, we actively gather feedback about any service provided to track our performance. We value the people who work for us and are fully committed to their well-being both professionally and personally. We follow the RICS code of conduct and we strongly support equal opportunity and diversity in the workplace.
We work to minimise the environmental impact of our operations by promoting sustainable practices both locally and globally by improving our own sustainable and green performance. With internal expertise, we actively encourage sustainable practices which are supported by our ISO 14001 accreditation. We encourage those who work for us and with us to support us in this goal. We have published an Environmental and Sustainability Policy, which is championed by one of our Directors [John Dilley] and we are continually seeking ways in which we can improve business efficiency.
We have implemented a programme of Director led initiatives. Our ‘Communities Champion’ (Martin Conlon) ensures we annually measure and provide professional, charitable and community support. We encourage apprenticeships, work placements, employee volunteering and pro bono services and encourage our people to give thought, time and effort to help those in less fortunate positions. We aim to actively take part in at least two fund raising events each year.
