We’re delighted to announce that two members of the Assent team have been shortlisted at this year’s Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Matrics Surveyor Awards.
These awards recognise individuals for their advancement of the built environment sector through their significant contributions to the profession, as well as those who uphold the highest standard of professionalism and ethics, celebrating their roles as industry leaders in their respective awards’ categories.
Kevin Bunsell, a Senior Building Control Surveyor from the Assent Manchester team, has been nominated in the Mentor of the Year category by colleague Chris Shaw for his work and support towards Chris’s development as a Building Control Surveyor.
Chris said: “Kevin’s mentorship extends beyond mere observation during site visits. Rather than just asking me to simply shadow his actions, he actively involves me in the inspection process, facilitating an enhanced learning experience.”
Also nominated this year in the Building Surveyor/Control Surveyor of the Year category is Craig Newbound, who works as a Building Control Surveyor for our Yorkshire and Humber team. Craig was nominated by Building Control Manager, Jake Green.
Jake said: “Having worked with Craig on legacy projects for the past year I have found him to be nothing short of excellent. He has supported me with so many projects, providing me with technical advice, support and solutions. He has gone out of his way time and time again to fit in bookings around clients and get reports and other work done in a timely manner.”
The awards take place at the Londoner Hotel on Leicester Square on 20th October. We’re looking forward to attending the event and will be wishing both Kevin and Craig the very best of luck on the night!
